At first I thought the picture was in the 70’s when pregnant women were allowed to smoke. I hope she got a talkin to. I can easily imagine her getting so much talking to that she had to move away as the first step in a long inevitably futile attempt to hide from insanity.
By Executive Tramp, August 6, 2009 @ 10:01
niiiiice. a positive example of a modern woman.
By Cobalt Lion, August 6, 2009 @ 10:39
The trouble with hiding from insanity is that it usualy finds you.
By The Bigger E, August 6, 2009 @ 11:24
Mamma should have a nice frosty beer to go with her smoke, too!

If there ever was a case to be made for bitch-slapping someone, this is it! I’m more than willing to volunteer a day or to for that job. Here’s my idea for post-natal care: enforced adoption!
By RevRagnarok, August 6, 2009 @ 18:42
Friend just told me – this was actually on Snopes – http://www.snopes.com/photos/signs/pregnant.asp

And she’s worried about jack hammers! Crazy lady – do not smoke while pregnant – that’s whats going to hurt YOUR baby. Dumb A**!
By Jennifer Silvers, August 10, 2009 @ 14:36
What a PIG!!!!
By aggrotech, August 11, 2009 @ 12:30
Gah, she looks like my mother-in-law: cigarette, pot-belly (yeah, I know this chick is preggers) and all!
**doesn’t exactly get along with her MIL**
By Brad Hart, August 11, 2009 @ 13:36
It is interesting the women most likely to smoke while pregnant are not only poor and therefore the least able to afford the habit, but the the most likely segment of society to oppose abortion.
By Laura, August 11, 2009 @ 13:56
Yeah… so super proud that I live in Roanoke… *slaps forehead*
By Troy, August 11, 2009 @ 15:04
I totally want to live on Bullitt Ave
“You’ve come a long way baby…”
Definitely irresponsible for the woman to do that.
By Chris, August 11, 2009 @ 19:50
“…in the 70’s when pregnant women were allowed to smoke”
that made me laugh almost as hard as I laughed at the photo. thanks stephen c
By Kat, August 11, 2009 @ 21:38
Wait, I need to slap my forehead too. Do’n Roanoke so wrong..
By Ironica, August 11, 2009 @ 21:51
She states that the criticisms go in one ear and out the other… I guess there is nothing in between to stop it.
By Taxil, August 12, 2009 @ 06:10
I live in Roanoke county, not the city where this ditz lives at, so don’t lump me in there with her. The last i checked, she’s still there.

Wait I am confused. I was under the impression (from websites and popular media) that only retarded midwesterners from retarded red states are this stupid. This is Virginia, on the enlightened east coast. My world is shattered!
By Retardeder, August 12, 2009 @ 08:36
@ Matt
It’s Virginia, in the retarded south
(you know; the one that will “rise again”)
By Xaq, August 12, 2009 @ 09:05
@idv82 — I know it was probably an joke, but “enforced adoption” is not particularly funny or practical. 2 million + kids in American adoption agencies. It’s not like Wonka-land, the adoption system. I think a much more practical and appropriate solution would be DURING pregnancy, getting Gallagher to Sledge-o-matic her belly-melon.
By Rachel, August 12, 2009 @ 09:54
Brad Hart- Ignorance abounds!
By Tetra, August 12, 2009 @ 10:44
I don’t think the jackhammers will be what causes THIS unborn baby brain damage.
Ah..
Wait..
By the looks of thia mom, I think it might be hereditary..
By Snorudle, August 12, 2009 @ 12:40
funny five years ago!
By nerdly_dood, August 12, 2009 @ 13:19
Heyyy… I remember when they were doing that road project… They added a bunch of small windy curves to slow down traffic on a straight section of a pair of one-way roads in the eastern section of Roanoke, and those roads are so annoying now… luckily, I live on the other side of the city.
By David, August 12, 2009 @ 13:43
the horror, the horror
By MER, August 12, 2009 @ 14:28
She already knows about the damages the cigarette is going to cause, but the sound of jackhammers is her concern because she hasn’t seen studies on it yet. I’m sure she’s got some meth and a crack pipe and a liter of Vodka inside. I feel bad for that child, too bad it can’t just kick itself right out of her and slap her in the face for being that dumb.
“These damn jackhammers are ruining my childs smoking habits!”
By Ena, August 12, 2009 @ 21:24
wonderful, giving a bad name to all of us preggers in VA. F***ing moron woman…
By dinohh, August 12, 2009 @ 21:55
I think the jackhammer’s noise is the least of her worries for her child… What a dumb lady.
By José Vasconcellos Dias Jr., August 13, 2009 @ 10:10
She is pregnant and smokes?!?!?!! She “really” will be a good mother!
By Malcolm Dunn, August 13, 2009 @ 15:09
I love it when someone points that kind of thing out for all of us to feel better about ourselves. Yeah, she may not be the smartest person in the world, but it seems like only yesterday her granny was drinking moonshine and dumping one off into the wash tub while washing clothes. Did you ever think that she probably didn’t have any insurance and she was probably smoking her baby’s birthweight down to save on pain medication. Smoking does help with natural child birth.
By Malcolm Dunn, August 13, 2009 @ 15:18
They may have been prescribed. I could be medical pot. Who knows the real truth?
By Ash, August 13, 2009 @ 17:11
“Smoking does help with natural child birth.”
Yeah, the inevitable brain damage on the kid is just an added bonus!
By Jen, August 14, 2009 @ 12:41
This lady actually lives right down the road from me, says a ton about my community eh?¿
By Nana, August 15, 2009 @ 21:50
Probably smoking to calm her nerves from the sound of the jackhammer, eh?
By mitch, August 17, 2009 @ 10:59
Its all good. Undersized babies are easy to give birth too.
By Steph, August 18, 2009 @ 23:17
Women like this shouldn’t be allowed to breed.
By chelsea, August 24, 2009 @ 11:02
jackhammers will effect the baby ? HAHA, how bout that cigerette in her hand ? tha will do way more damage !
By disco lemonade, January 6, 2010 @ 04:49
You people are way too harsh!! How many of our parents smoked when pregnant and we turned out just fine. I’m so sick of this PC state that we live in. It is NOT illegal to smoke. Before you get you knickers in a knot I do think she should have made a better choice, but we are NOT robots. Did you sit in a bubble when you were expecting with no coffee or even a sip of alcohol (even before you knew), did not inhale smoke from ANYWHERE, eat only whole foods, no meds even for a headache, exercise daily, and choose natural child birth??
People in glass houses. . .
